What is regret but the song of a broken heart

The flicker of a fire that never got its start

An opportunity lost to circumstance

A love so strong but never had a chance

A regret always lingers no matter what you do

A constant reminder of what once could be true

It is hope, ambition, fantasy and desire

Reminding the heart of what we aspire

Memories and words will always cut deeply

Reminded of which and one's heart will feel heavy

For somethings mean much and you'll never forget

And that my dear B*** is why I have regrets
